Success is the sum of small efforts repeated day in and day out.

Easter Bird Watching and Double Arch

I hope you all enjoyed your Easter. For us, it was the first Sunday we had off since I finished Hello Dolly! So of course we took it to our advantage and decided to grab our cameras and go where we love taking photos- Rocky Mountain National Park. Unfortunately for us, we got a late start- so light wasn't great for photography, it's also in the awkward season between Winter and Spring. Trees are not yet sprouting and the snow is dirty and not fresh..so doesn't make for the most beautiful photos. However, we were able to get up to Bear Lake and had a few friendly and super active bird friends. The Rocky Mountain Blue Jay was very active...he would not let me get a good shot, but the other little guy was much more cooperative for me. Along with these birds, we also saw a flock of wild turkeys, one tom with about seven hens. Todd got a few great pictures of the male...who's tale was all fluffed out as he showed off for his harem of females. I was in the car and on the wrong side so couldn't get a shot. I'll share a link over to his Turkey shots when he's edited them- by far much better than anything I got today!

Since I had some time this evening, I also killed two birds with one stone (actually no birds were hurt during the writing of this blog) and edited some more photos from our Moab Trip (read about Moab Giants Here and Balanced Rock Here). The pictures below were from Double Arch in Arches National Park. If you look really hard you can see the people hanging out on the Arches to provide scale. Luckily we had a beautiful blue sky this day (it was our third and final day in Moab). It was fun shooting up through the Arches and playing with angles. There was also an interesting rock that we both agreed looked like a masked man screaming...maybe it's just us?
